Black and Bleu Summer Steak Salad

serves 2

  • 1/2 lb organic, grass-fed sirloin steak (use leftover from this recipe for best flavor)
  • 2 cups romaine lettuce, washed and chopped
  • 2 cups green leaf lettuce, washed and chopped
  • 1/2 cup organic blueberries
  • 1/2 cup organic strawberries, sliced
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 4oz crumbled blue cheese or gorgonzola cheese
  • balsamic vinegar and olive oil for dressing

Place lettuce on plates distributed evenly. Layer cheese, pecan pieces, and steak in the center. Add berries and avocado and drizzle with balsamic vinegar and olive oil as desired. Warm steak before adding to salad if desired.
