Clean Eating Tuna Cakes

I’ve been promising this recipe for like three posts now! Well here it is! These little patties are delicious, convenient, healthy, and a lot more interesting than staring in a can of plain tuna thinking, “I’m gonna eat this?”

Tuna Cakes (makes 6 patties)

  • 3 4oz. cans of albacore tuna, in water, low sodium
  • 3 egg whites
  • 1/2 cup of oat flour
  • 1/4 cup of plain non-fat greek yogurt
  • 2 tsp of garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp of ground cumin
  • 1/2 tbsp of chili powder
  • salt, pepper, and cayenne to taste
  • 1 tsp of oil

Mix all ingredients in a bowl and stir with a fork, using it to whisk the mixture a little and break up the tuna.

Roll mixture into six equal balls and place on a plate. Heat a skillet and oil over medium-high heat and then place the patties in the pan, smashing down lightly with a spatula or a fork to form the patty.

Let cook about 3 minutes, then carefully flip and cook for another 3 minutes. Serve immediately and enjoy :). These go really well with black beans and avocado!
